"Reconstruction of Space"

'The achievements of the ancient Greek civilization, which became the basis of the European civilization, at every stage of its  development  were an ideal and universal source of new senses.
The Northern Black Sea region and Dnepr-Bug estuary as its component were the part of the ancient Oykhumena and belonged to the  vast Black Sea/Mediterranean cultural region.

Olvia - the northernmost spot of the Oykhumena - is a compact model of the ancient Greek civilization in the Northern Black Sea lands.  Working with the material from the ancient town, the artist is given such a complex of characteristics of this local space that provides the  sensation of the interrelationship with the whole of the Mediterranean cultural and historical space, the sensation of involvement into the  orbit of the ancient world. There occurs a certain integration of past and present, evoking a longing to level the time, the ontological importance of which is being reduced. Space is absolute and is being investigated and reconstructed by means of modern art.

The artist, in his creative experiments, consecutively develops the method of artistic reconstruction that strives for new ways of creative  work on the verge of science and art employing analysis of visual, aesthetic, ethic and other ideas contained in the archeological object  and their new artistic organization'.
